The Chairman, Military Pension’s Board, Major General A.B. Adamu paid a courtesy visit on the Executive Chairman, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, High Chief R. O. Egbule, Ph.D., MFR, on Wednesday, 19th September 2018.
Major General A.B. Adamu who assumed duty as Chairman of the Military Pension’s Board on the 6th August 2018 was in the company of the Board’s Management which included the Director of Air Force Pensions, Air Commodore M. L. Sini, Director of Army Pension, Col. J.A. Faransa, Director of Finance, Mr. M.A. Gassol, Director of Navy Pensions, Navy Capt S.I Ngatuwa, as well as Major N. Hamza, the Military Asst. to the Chairman, and Flt Lt. O.V. Okoroafor, the Public Relations Officer of the Board. The Executive Chairman National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission High Chief R.O. Egbule, Ph.D., MFR, in the company of the Commissioner (Evaluation and Grading Department), Acting Secretary to Commission, Engr. David I. Nyikyaa, Directors, Heads of Department and Unit, and the Special assistants to the Executive Chairman warmly received the team.
The Chairman, Military Pension’s Board expressed his pleasure with the visit, recalling that since its establishment, the Military Pensions Board and the Commission have had a close working relationship that has witnessed regular visits of the past Chairmen of the Board to the Commission. Speaking on the purpose of his visit, Major General A. B. Adamu said he and the team came to familiarize themselves with the Commission, having just assumed office. He hoped to sustain the existing cordial working relationship between the board and the Commission. He thanked the Executive Chairman of the Commission for obliging his request for a courtesy visit with expedience.
He pointed out that the Commission as he has identified is an agency of Government that is key to the success of the Board, hence the choice of the Commission as his first place of visit on the assumption of office. He expressed the Board’s appreciation to the Commission and the Executive Chairman in particular, for his role over the recently approved Revised Military Pension rates and Gratuity, which he said has raised the morale of serving military officers and men and brought great joy among retired Military personnel. He further solicited the advice of the Commission on the best ways to implement the revised rates to avoid hitches or any form of problems.
Responding, the Executive Chairman of the Commission thanked the Chairman of the Military Pensions Board for appreciating the work of the Commission. He assured the Chairman of the Military Pension’s board that the Commission will continue to play its statutory role over pensions as required and promised him of the Commission’s support as always, to help him succeed in the onerous tasks of his position and wished him well in his new assignment. The Executive Chairman thereafter presented a copy of the Law establishing the Commission to the Chairman, Military Pension Board. The two Chairmen went ahead to exchange souvenirs to mark the visit. A vote of thanks was offered by the Acting Secretary to the Commission, Engr. David I. Nyikyaa, who in his remarks thanked the Chairman, Military Pension’s Board for finding time to visit the Commission.
