In compliance with the Provisions of Section 12(1) of the National Minimum Wage Act 2019, the National Salaries, Incomes and Labour and Employment, Federal Ministry of Finance Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Budget Office of the Federation, Office of the Accountant conduction the Phase I of a nation-wide monitoring of the implementation and compliance with the National Minimum Wage Act 2019.
The purpose of the exercise is to ascertain the level of compliance of public and private sector employers with the payment of the national minimum wage of N30,000:00 per month to their employees as provided by Section 3 of the Act. Consequently, a team of authorised officers has been mandated to visit selected employers/organisations between Monday, 23rd January 2023 and Friday, 3rd February 2023 to administer a questionnaire aimed at obtaining information to verify the level of compliance with the provisions of the Act.
Concerned employers/organisations as well as members of the public are hereby informed of the exercise and requested to give maximum support and cooperation where necessary,
