Health Professionals Seek Relativity in Allowances as NSIWC Pledges to Review Request
The Alliance of Association Optometrists In Public Health and Association of Hospital and Administrative Pharmacists of Nigeria (AHAPN) said they were in National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) because of what they refer to as marginalisation of the Association by the Medical Doctors.
It is in the light of the above that the Association is seeking relativity, instead of parity with the medical doctors especially in areas of Call Duty Allowance.
The Deputy National Chairman of the Association, Pharmacist Jelili Kelani made the plea when he led a delegation to a visit to the Chairman of the National Salaries Incomes and Wages Commission, Major General Junaid Bindawa (Rtd) PhD on a courtesy visit.
Responding, the NSIWC Boss noted that the new Board of the Commission since inception had intervened in six matters related to the Health Sector. He promised that the Compensation Department will look into the request of the Association.
