The Head of the Pension Management Department is a seasoned Public Service professional with extensive experience in compensation and pension administration. He joined the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) in March 2008 as a Compensation Officer II and was deployed to the Compensation Department.

Through dedication, professional competence, and consistent outstanding performance, he progressed steadily through the ranks and was promoted to the position of Assistant Director in January 2024. Following institutional reforms within the Commission, which led to the establishment of the Pension Management Department to complement the functions of the Compensation Department, he was appointed as the pioneer Head of the Pension Management Department. He was formally inaugurated into the position on 3rd July, 2026.

Throughout his distinguished career with the Commission, he has made significant contributions to the development and implementation of Public Service compensation policies and frameworks. Prior to his appointment as Head of the Pension Management Department, he served as Assistant Director (Pay Research) in the Compensation Department. He also served as the International Labour Organization (ILO) Desk Officer and was a member of the Federal Government delegation to the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC), held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, in June 2024.

His strong academic background has been instrumental to his professional accomplishments. He began his educational journey at Emai Primary School, Afuze-Emai, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria. He subsequently attended Afuze Technical College, Afuze-Emai, where he obtained the General Certificate of Education (GCE) in 1989. In 1999, he earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Hons.) Degree in Economics.

Driven by a commitment to continuous learning and professional development, he enrolled at the Nigerian Defence Academy Postgraduate School, Kaduna, where he successfully completed the prescribed courses and examinations. In recognition of his academic achievement, he was awarded the degree of Master of Internal Affairs and Strategic Studies (MIASS) on 23 September 2021.

With nearly two decades of dedicated service in Public Service administration, compensation management, and policy development, he brings a wealth of knowledge and strategic leadership to his current role. His appointment as Head of the Pension Management Department on 3rd July, 2026 reflects the Commission’s confidence in his capacity to provide effective leadership in advancing pension administration and strengthening policies that promote the welfare and well-being of pensioners in both the public and private sectors of the Nigerian economy.
